New Catch Steelhead Flies–Steelhead Approved

This Idaho fish fell for Bjorn’s Midnight Rave, a new fly available from Catch this year.

I’ve tied hundreds of different steelhead flies to tempt steelhead into giving up the tug that crazy steelheaders desire. Some steelhead flies don’t even make it to the river after failing the bathtub test or the backyard creek “movement test.”  Others make it to the river, look good, but fail to produce time and time again and find their place in the “Give Away at Christmas” box.  However, every once in a while a real winner emerges, and up until this point I kept those flies in my “For Bjorn’s Eyes Only” box under lock and key.  The guys at CATCH are a good crew though and I’m happy to have them making some of my top producers over the last couple of years available to other anglers. These steelhead flies are definitely Steelhead approved!

I might even offer a few out of my “Super Secret Squirrel” box…
