Jim Mauries

About Jim Mauries

Jim Mauries was born and raised in Colorado, where his love of fly-
fishing was developed.  He sharpened his skills during his early years on
the South Platte and its tributaries.  He supported his fishing habit during
college as a professional fly tier, tying flies for shops throughout the
Rocky Mountain West. He has tied flies professionally for over forty
years.  Jim’s patterns for the most part, have been developed out of his
time spent guiding and working in fly shops.  He not only guides trout,
Jim has been a pioneer guiding smallmouth/carp/gar/buffalo, as well as
all other warm water species with a fly rod.   Jim currently resides in
Nashville, Tennessee where he owned and operated Fly South.
