About Christy McReynolds

 

Born and raised in East Tennessee, Christy McReynolds found a passion for streamer fishing and fly tying since 2000. Christy grew up fishing East Tennessee’s local lakes and rivers, world famous for its fish diversity. In 2011, Streamer fishing and fly tying were used as modality for physical therapy after a car accident left her with a broken neck . The method of streamer fishing and fly tying was a way to rehabilitate her nerve damaged arms and hands. The therapeutic modality turned into a dedicated hobby for streamer fishing and tying. In 2016, The passion for streamer fishing progressed by becoming co-owner, with her husband, of Flying SoHo guide service. Her focus since has been tying flies and inventing new patterns for clients. Christy also has been an IGFA world record holder in all length fly categories. Her most noted moments were holding the all length fly brown trout world record two times. In addition to tying flies, she also focuses on conservation and yearly river clean ups.
